I was talking with my friend last week who owns one of the big AI newsletters.

He told me he’s scooping up newsletters for next to nothing.

Why did this happen?

It became easier than ever to start a newsletter with tools like Beehiiv and Substack.

The market got saturated.

Content is a grind. Most people can’t make content sustainably. Burnout is imminent.

There’s more ad inventory than people who want to buy.

This space is going to crash.

Ride-alongs, build-in public, and vlogs of startup life are now a blue ocean strategy.

It is the differentiator.

And it gives founders insane leverage with customers, investors, and marketing partnership negotiations.

Every company will be a media company. Start now or die on the vine.

I get emails like this from Descript.

This is a great way to get people to make social content about your software.

There’s a specific thing they want you to do.

There is a time limit which creates urgency.

There are expectations or quality.

Make your own version of this.
